Repeat business is monumental in almost every industry. Regulars at a restaurant. Using the same hairstylist. But, to be honest, I never thought I'd see it in the van business. So when one of my very first customers called asking to drop off a brand new Mercedes you can imagine the rush of honor and excitement on my side of the phone. It's wonderful to have a customer return. It's even better when that customer's instructions are "Do whatever you think is best." Off the to races.
It's no secret that one of my favorite parts of any build is the ceiling. You see it when you hop into bed at the end of a long day. It's the first thing onlookers when sliding open the door. And so, for this van we started with naturally felled pine from the Sequoia National Forest, responsibly sourced by a local, one man, lumber mill. With it's knots, blue streaks and abundance of character we set out to drive the van's design with the wood in mind. The Maple cabinetry is dressed in a slate stain with half-moon veins revealing the natural grains within matching the revealed end grains and Birch butcher block countertop and bench. The backsplash is a durable stainless steel while the shower is lined with white subway tile. All of this sitting on a luxury vinyl plank floor that brings out the darkest tones of the overall pallet.
The interior is filled with only the most needed amenities including our proprietary Hideaway Shower, a fridge box / bench combo (with a secret compartment, shhhhhh), a swiveling passenger seat, removable rotating tabletop and a bed built for two. While I could go on romanticizing lumber and over explaining why I wake up at 2 am to consider the exact height of the reading lamps I'll just let you scroll to the photo section instead. A full list of specifications is also listed below.
